Games Workshop Launches at Bus Stop Toy Shop

Bus Stop Toy Shop is proud to announce that it has become the first North Ayrshire retailer of Games Workshop products. All the popular items from Warhammer, Warhammer 40K and Lord of The Rings Strategy Battle Game are in stock now. Of course they're also available to buy online at our usual great prices too. Hama-tastic

We've been working on our Hama bead range for a while now. As ever at Bus Stop Toy Shop, the principle is simple. We don't really do things online unless we can offer the widest range available at the lowest price. Well, our range is getting bigger still. At A Quiet Time of Year, An Update

September is a quiet time in the toy industry. Schools are back, and Christmas trade is yet to kick off. I thought today, I'd give you the lowdown on what we've got planned over the next few months.

1 Another business. Yes, you heard right. It's top secret at the moment, but if you've ever spent too long looking for that £10 gift for the hard to buy for, then this will be for you.

2 Even more trading cards. OK, so you know that we already stock one of the widest ranges of trading cards in the UK, but look out for even more expansion in our ranges from Yu-Gi-Oh, Doctor Who: Battles In Time and Pokemon. There's tonnes of new releases in the run up to Christmas, and you can find them all from our Trading Cards homepage.

3 More Pre-School Toys - We love our wooden range from Wonderworld and it always sells well in the shop. For a while, we've been hunting for other great ranges of pre-school toys to complement it. Well, we've found not one, but two. Look out for them appearing on the site in the run up to Christmas.

4 Our mission is to please. Since our online Uglydoll launch, we've been selling them at a phenomenol rate. As a result, keep watching, because the range will just get bigger and bigger. Enjoy!

Wow. We've seen a strange phenomenon. Recently we've been going through a process where we've put lots of stock previously only available in our retail store onto our website. Scoubidous was one of those products. We thought just about everyone was done with Scoubies, but we've been amazed by the response. People up and down the land are still frantically knotting away. Meet The Uglydolls No 1 - Ox

The clue to the name of this doll is in the Eyes! What kind of name is OX? No, not like the animal OX, as in HUG(O) and KISS(X)! How can he hug you with such short arms? OX uses his ears! He's not a very good listener, but he puts his ears to good use in many other ways! OX is great at magic, and his best trick is turning your stuff into his stuff. His best friend Wedgehead calls that stealing, but OX just wants to borrow things from you for a few hundred years. He promises to put everything back when he's done. What he wants to steal most are kisses, whether they're in the chocolate variety or just plain, and he promises to be your friend if you would lend him a hand, or an ear...or like Two Quid!

Magno-z Series II Here At Last

We've been desperately looking forward to this all summer! Finally, the new Magno-z have come out. If you loved Bruce and the gang, you'll love Bindi, Fu and all their other new Magno-z friends.

Whilst the first series was very Western cartoon in appearance, the new ones draw heavily from the world of Manga and look fantastic. There's four new special characters too, just to add to all the fun.

Things We Love: Number 1

We can't help loving Gelli Baff. If you've been on Mars this past few weeks, here's what you've missed.

Gelli Baff turns a whole bath-full of water into Gelli. Yes, really. Does it work? Yes, really.

Now, we can already hear the groans from parents, but...

One powder turns your bath to Gelli, and when you're done, another turns it back to water. It is amazing!

Black Emperor II - Update

After fierce competition on Saturday, the second (and here was the surprise), third, fourth and fifth Black Emperors were won. Fifteen of the world's top Magno-Man players gathered in store for an unforgetable two rounds of action. A nail-biting finish saw the winner emerge with six points, whilst three runners up scored four each.

Doctor Who Battles In Time: Annihilator Series

Hot news - following on from the huge success of the Doctor Who - Battles In Time Exterminator Series, we've just learned that a new series of cards is about to be launched. It's going to be called Annihilator and is rumoured to contain 100 new cards. Due late February, if you're a regular in our shop, come and see us about pre-ordering some packs. We'll give you more news as we get it.

Sun Is Shining

For the first time in what feels like a decade, the sun is out in Largs. Hoorah! Bit chilly though, so it's not quite time to put the beach balls back on display in the shop.

First Week of Sunday Cards

Good to see a few faces turn up to swap cards. One VERY lucky individual bought a pack and picked up a Super Rose Golden Ticket card (1 in every 1000 packs) .

Doctor Who: Battles In Time

I bought six packs for myself - only one super-rare to report (Pickled Eggs #80). If you are coming along to swap, go to the BIT website - you can see my collection under the username "busstoptoyshop". I'm a nice guy, so I'll swap any of my cards with you (common for common, rare for rare and so on) so long as your card is in decent condition. If you see anything you need, then drop into the shop any Sunday between 2 and 4.

Another Wet and Wild Day In Largs

It's Friday, it's wet, it's a typical January day in Largs. Come and visit us - we'll put the kettle on and make you a cuppa to help beat the elements. With the weather set to be like this for a few days, you need bus stop toy shop in your life to warm your day up.

Sunday Afternoon Cards

There's always something new at bus stop toy shop. Sunday afternoons have always been quiet for us. Duncan might as well be doing something rather than sitting looking at the walls. Plenty of people come into the shop to buy their Doctor Who: Battles In Time cards and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. With the local schools now discouraging people from bringing in their cards, where do you go to swap cards and play the games? bus stop toy shop, of course. Now on a Sunday afternoon between 2 and 4, you can bring along your deck, swap cards or even challenge Duncan (who's a beginner so you'll win easy).

Some Things to Note: I'm not a child minder or a creche and I would prefer young children to be accompanied. However, I will help beginners to learn the games, offer advice and also make sure novices don't swap away something worth a fortune for a crusty old common card.
